Hotel Mandala was founded in 1970. In the beginning of the Hotel it was named by Durga Guest House. Durga Datta Pahari (Father of MD Surya Pahari) was the first  who had established this Hotel.  In that time he gave rest to backpackers who traveled Nepal via overland on the Hippie trail.

In time, trekkers increased creating a demand for guest houses which made Durga Guest House later renamed into Hotel Mandala with the modern facilities. Since then it has been upgrading in time to time to provide good hospitality to satisfy the customer needs.

Later on, our Hotel has achieved the status of being one of the most trustworthy hotels in the valley with its strong clientele following and guest satisfaction has been the key.
